Senior Wind Analyst (m/f/d)

Become a part of the ENERTRAG team at our location in Berlin or remotely (with preference for ability to visit office regularly) as Senior Wind Analyst (m/f/d) and let's advance the energy transition together.  

• Wind data from met masts, SoDAR, and LiDAR is analyzed, with a focus on wind speed, direction, and turbulence.
• Close collaboration with the procurement team ensures the smooth execution of wind measurement campaigns.
• WindPRO (or similar software) is utilized to model wind farm layouts and estimate energy production, considering turbine specifications and environmental factors.
• GIS and data analysis tools are employed for visualization purposes.
• Wake effects are modeled using CFD or similar techniques to optimize turbine placement and maximize energy yield.
• Optimization algorithms are applied to enhance turbine layout and configuration, with a focus on LCOE/AEP optimization.
• Topography, land use, and geographic features are evaluated to identify optimal turbine locations.
• Detailed feasibility reports on site development are prepared, including meteorological assessments and shadowing effects.
• Reports for internal reviews and decision-making are written, and site inspections are conducted as needed.

• A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Atmospheric Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Wind Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) specialist, with proficiency in WindPRO or similar software, is essential.
• Experience in post-construction energy yield assessments is a plus.
• A strong understanding of wind flow principles and proficiency in statistical data analysis are required.
• Familiarity with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques is expected.
• Thorough knowledge of various GIS tools and methods is necessary.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and energy analysis software solutions is required.
• Business fluency in English is essential; German language skills are a plus.
• Strong negotiating skills, self-organization, and the ability to thrive in a team environment are important.
