Your Prospective Job:

For our renowned customer Airbus Helicopters you are acting as an Exprienced Stress Engineer (m/f/d) at the location Donauwörth.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Structural sizing calculations using handbook methods and Finite Element Method (FEM) (linear and non-linear)
  • Preparation and approval of substantiation reports for static strength and fatigue
  • Preparation of test programmes and test requests, as well as support of testing activities
  • Definition of service life, inspection, and maintenance intervals
  • Structural analyses/stress calculations throughout the various development phases, from concept to detailed design, with the objective of optimizing the design in terms of strength, service life, weight, and cost
  • Support of certification activities, e.g. incorporation of compliance documentation into the certification database (Nectar)
  • Processing of structural non-conformities, including the definition of rework and repair solutions
  • Processing of customer support requests

Your Profile:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of work experience in aerospace engineering, aircraft structural mechanics, and stress engineering
  • Work experience in an international and multicultural environment
  • Several years of practical experience in static strength and fatigue analysis within the aerospace industry
  • Experience in the sizing, structural analysis, testing (coupon and component tests), and certification of metallic and composite aircraft structures in accordance with CS-27/CS-29
  • Basic experience with Python or a similar programming language
  • Proficiency in standard handbook methods (e.g. Niu, Bruhn, HSB) and advanced knowledge of linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods (HyperWorks, NASTRAN, OptiStruct)
  • Good knowledge of aircraft structural requirements, including flight and landing loads, fatigue, bird strike, and damage tolerance
  • Good knowledge of metallic and composite materials, including sizing methodologies, failure modes, manufacturing processes, and their effects on mechanical properties
  • Fluent English skills both spoken and written
  • German language skills are an advantage
